FEBRUARY 23,2008

I know it isn't one of those brilliant red-orange sunsets but it caught my eye anyway. I love that it is a soft pastel pink and a lighter shade of blue.
During a sunset light travels through more atmosphere. If the air is polluted with small particles Blue Light becomes scattered and is unable to pass through the extra distance and reach our eyes., ,This leaves only the red light which passes through the atmosphere and reaches our eyes in a direct line with little or no scattering.

Not only a great painter and photographer, but also an expert on our atmosphere. I guess they really do teach at Old Forge.
